Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church ministries

Our church is a ministry driven congregation with members taking responsibilities to see that the assigned ministry is carried out to benefit the congregation, the community and to glorify The Lord through Christian service.

Deacon Earnest Brown, Benevolence Servant Leader	The Benevolence Ministry helps members of the Pleasant Grove Church during times of financial hardship. By its discretion the Benevolence Ministry may also help those who are not members of Pleasant Grove Church who are having financial hardship.
Beatrice Goodloe, President, Ushers Board	The Usher Ministry greets those who attend services of the church with a loving and warm reception and seats them in a polite and orderly fashion to minimize distraction in worship services.
Angela Johnson, Youth and Drama Ministry Servant Leader	The Youth Ministry provides positive spiritual guidance to boys and girls as they move through adolescence with the goal of helping them make a successful transition to adulthood. The Drama Ministry creates presentations to deliver the Word of God in unique and meaningful ways.
George Hopkins, Choir Director	The Choir Director works with Pastor Wilson to select and direct choral, congregational and instrumental music to support and enhance delivery of the Word of God in our church.
Reverend John Moorehead, Sunday School Superintendent	The Sunday School Ministry teaches the Word of God to the congregation in a systematic class divisional organization. Sunday School helps members grow in Christian living and the work of Christ.
Ora Reynolds,Children's Church Servant Leader	The Children's Church Ministry ensures a smoothly operating, safe and effective program while teaching the Word of God.
Tina Brown, Junior Intermediate Teacher	Junior Intermediate teachers are responsible for teaching God's Holy Word to children ages 9-13 through the Baptist lesson book each Sunday.
Deacon Wilbert Thornton, Church Financial Secretary	The church financial secretary manages the church finances to best fulfill the Will of God.
	The funeral ministry works with families in preparing a meaningful funeral service for their deceased loved ones.
George Hopkins, Marquee Ministry Servant Leader	The marquee ministry sees to it that current church program information is posted on the church marqee as requested by the pastor and other servant leaders.
Deacon John Sargent, Financial Peace Ministry Servant Leader, Sunday School teacher	The Financial Peace Ministry teaches financial control of money by revealing God's way of handling money. Personal finance is 80% behavior and 20% head knowledge which means taking control of your money is more about what you do than what you know. This ministry builds one's body of financial knowledge. The Financial Peace Ministry is taught used Bible based principles from Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small-group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get you from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. In only nine lessons, you will learn how to get rid of debt, take control of your money, spend and save wisely, give generously, and much more! On average, families save $2,300 and pay off $5,700 in debt in the first 90 days!
Earsiline Turner, Missions and Vacation Bible School Servant Leader	The Mission Ministry stimulates the missionary spirit in church members through prayer, Bible study regarding God's missionary message and by engaging in regular mission activities in the community. The ministry encourages contributions to foreign missions, the work of the Women's Convention and faithful support of the church. The Vacation Bible School ministry organizes and conducts the church's annual Vacation Bible School delivering the message of God's love in an informal and fun setting.
	The Security Ministry provides security and a feeling of confidence to those who attend services and other church events
Edna Lever, Women's Conference Co-Chair Servant Leader	The Women's Conference theme, "A time of Renewing, Refreshing & Rededication" Romans 12:1-2 reflects the guiding principles of the event where women of the church and their guests hear visiting speakers and deepen their knowledge and service in God's will.
Stephanie Gulley, Pastor's Secretary	The Pastor's Secretary provides administrative support to assist the Pastor in his pastoral duties.
Deacon Robert Wright, Lead Custodian and Transportation Maintenance Ministry Servant Leader	The Transportation Maintenance Ministry sees to it that church vehicles are properly maintained for safety and longevity in providing dependable transportation to and from church services, programs and meetings. Drivers are vetted Christian volunteers with special licenses as required by the State of Arkansas. The Custodian Ministry sees to it that the church premises is clean and attractive. It also oversees maintenance and any necessary repairs to church electrical, HVAC, plumbing and other systems necessary to a smoothly functioning building and grounds.
Deacon Earnest Ingram, Church Clerk	The Church Clerk is the congregation's record keeper who records and publishes minutes of meetings as necessary and ensures that proper record generation, storage and recall are properly implemented to support God's work among church members.
Pastor Dennis Wilson, New Member Ministry Servant Leader	The New Member and Outreach Ministry welcomes new members to our church and introduces them to church, it's traditions and to our ministry-driven system of serving God, our church and our communities. The ministry helps match new members with the church ministry where they are most comfortable and can serve in a meaningful way,
Deacon O. J. Turner, Chairman of the Board of Deacons, and Church Treasurer	The Deacons Ministry serves the scriptural mandate to honestly and efficiently carry out the business of the church according to Christian principles. Deacons also serve as helpmates to the pastor in ministering to the spiritual needs of the congregation. These individuals shoulder the responsibilities which enable the church to fulfill its mission to members and the community. Service as a deacon is a solemn responsibility. Requirements and guidance are scripturally based in Timothy 3: 8-12:
Pauline Polk, Kitchen Ministry Servant Leader	The Kitchen Ministry manages the kitchen and food prepares and serves food on the occasions when a meal is served in the church.

Reverend Early Foreman, Health Ministry Servant Leader	The WORD Health Ministry; The WORD stands for wholeness, oneness, righteousness, and deliverance. The ministry encourages and promotes maintaining a healthy weight, healthy eating habits, healthy physical activity, and daily time with God.
Ora Reynolds, Greeter's Ministry Servant Leader	The Greeter's Ministry provides greeters to meet those who attend the church with a warm, loving reception – that will create the feeling of a loving, caring, Christ central Christian family – and that will encourage visitors to become a part of our church family.
Marion Sargent, Women's 1 Sunday School Teacher and Church Tithes Ministry Servant Leader	The Women's 1 Sunday School teacher prepares her weekly lessons based on Baptist lesson books to provide spiritual guidance in incorporating the Word of Go0d and teachings of Christ into the daily lives of class members. The Church Tithes ministry educates the membership with teaching of Christ regarding the tithe, how if follows scripture and supports continuation of the church's ministries and programs.

Bridget Foreman, Health Ministry Servant Leader	The WORD Health Ministry; The WORD stands for wholeness, oneness, righteousness, and deliverance. The ministry encourages and promotes maintaining a healthy weight, healthy eating habits, healthy physical activity, and daily time with God.
